Ocean Youth Summit

April 11 - April 12

Ocean Youth empowers young people

2 FULL DAYS OF SHOWCASING AND CREATING YOUTH LED STORIES AND SOLUTIONS FOR OUR OCEAN AT SYDNEY’S ICONIC AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL MARITIME MUSEUM.

The Ocean Youth Empowerment Summit is a dynamic event aimed at empowering young people to safeguard ocean health, promote sustainability, protect biodiversity, and become drivers for a more sustainable future. Organized by Ocean Youth, this summit is part of a global youth-informed, science-based initiative designed to engage the fastest-growing demographic increasingly concerned about climate change and plastic pollution.

Participants of Ocean Youth gain valuable experience in ocean conservation, while also developing critical thinking skills, communication abilities, and entrepreneurial acumen. Through this summit, they connect with like-minded peers and build networks to amplify their impact on environmental issues.

This year, Ocean Youth Ambassadors have represented youth voices at prestigious events such as the Ocean Business Leaders’ Summit, the Marine Science Stakeholder Engagement Meeting, and the INNOVOCEAN event organized by the Ocean Impact Organization. Looking ahead, Ocean Youth has been invited to co-create an ocean campaign for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting 2024 and provide input into Australia’s first-ever National Sustainable Ocean Plan.

These high-profile opportunities underscore the importance of youth representation in decision-making processes and highlight the commitment to sustained advocacy beyond 2024. The Ocean Youth Empowerment Summit serves as a platform for fostering leadership, collaboration, and innovation among young environmental champions.
