We couldn’t be prouder of Ocean Youth Ambassadors Jiayi Fang, Angelique Greentree, and Isla Campbell, who took to the stage of UTS’s Great Hall as part of Climate Action Week Sydney’s Future Generations Day – their voices ringing loud and clear, calling for urgent action to protect our ocean and climate for their future.
Through OceanEarth Foundation’s Ocean Youth program, we build the capacity of young people to become ocean advocates, influencing positive action for our ocean and climate. This event was a perfect opportunity for them to hone their communication skills—and they absolutely delivered!
A key theme of the day? This generation didn’t create the climate and biodiversity crises, but they are stepping up to be part of the solutions. And they can’t do it alone. Every action, no matter how small, contributes to a healthier planet.
A huge thank you to our incredible panellists:
- Owen Bradstreet – Youth Advisory Rep, Climate200
- Ruby Wake – National Advocacy Manager, OzHarvest
- Emily Rowland – Former Ocean Youth Ambassador and Founder, Erthlycollective
- Dr Emma Camp – UTS Future Reefs Team Lead
An extra special thanks to Liz Courtney for her tireless work in making the event happen, and to Mark Rowlandfor bringing Climate Action Week to Sydney!
Let’s keep the momentum going—our ocean and climate need us all!
